The Major Arcana
-
The Universe represents the sacred moment of your arrival on Earth. Each of us arrives with our own unique way of living, expressing, and moving through the world. In that first breath, the path of destiny was set before you. However, we all fall off of our path at times and must find our way again. When this card appears, it is a call to realignment, a reminder to return to the path meant for you. Perhaps you have felt lost, stand on the edge of great change, or find yourself reflecting on times when you drifted from your essence. The Universe invites you to pause, to listen, and to remember the truth of who you were always meant to be.
-
The Guide is a force who walks beside you and steadies your steps when you begin to stray from your destined path. It moves in the form of coincidences, nagging feelings, and chance meetings. These subtle nudges can draw you back to your path as long as you are open to feeling and recognizing them. When you attune to the Guide, life begins to flow with ease; the world feels aligned, and you no longer struggle to force what is already unfolding for you. There is a warm sense of rightness in the world. To move in harmony with this presence, you must remain trusting and present, listening closely for its delicate cues.
-
The Spirit is a light within you, a light that can never go out. Through every journey, every struggle, and every stretch of darkness, the light of your spirit endures. Not even the cold embrace of death will diminish its light— it is the one thing you will take to the afterlife. To keep your spirit strong, you must nourish it with art, love, passion, and truth. When fed with these gifts, your spirit will burn brighter than ever, guiding you through darkness and leading you back to your destined path.
-
There is discord in the herd. Territorial energy is rising, and it seems only a knockdown, drag-out fight will decide who will claim the resources and be seen as the victor in the herd’s eyes. Shadow selves are at the helm, steering each stallion’s choices. But this is not the only way. The Challenger reminds us that it's never too late to take back the reins. Release your pride and let reason and balance rise to the surface. Remember your principles and let them guide you.
If you are a bystander in the herd, be a beacon for peace. Do not get swept up in the excitement of conflict and instead allow your Lightness to shine bright and inspire others.
-
A horse without a herd is vulnerable, living without protection, guidance, or shared wisdom. Alone, survival becomes harder, and life grows shorter. Although it can be appealing to go off on your own, to reject the conformity that community often demands and free yourself from judgement and expectation, you will face the struggles of a lone horse. It’s true, living in a community will never be perfect. Not everyone will meet your expectations, and at times you will outgrow a herd and need to wander awhile until a better fit comes along. But this card is here to remind you of all that community has to offer: time spent laughing and enjoying shared interests, friends you can call on in times of need, and elders who can pass down well-earned wisdom. A herd is more than the sum of its parts. When you allow yourself to take up space and find acceptance of others’ shortcomings, you will open yourself up to a world of possibilities that a life of solitude can never provide.
-
The Foal represents the dawn of a new journey. This card is a reminder that all paths worth taking will have stretches of obstacles, uncertainty, and doubt. The journey you are embarking on holds boundless potential of what could be and you must hold on to this excitement even as the path to success grows frustrating. Allow yourself the grace to be unsteady on your feet, give yourself the permission to be a beginner who is learning and growing. Your innocence and enthusiasm is a gift, not a flaw. Every master was once a beginner, and every strong stride begins with a trembling first step.
-
The Yearling represents the end of youth and the transition to adulthood. It may seem right now that your days of carefree wandering will all be behind you. The weight of growing responsibilities feels heavy and you may wonder if you were made to bear the weight. You may even wonder if you will ever feel the joys of more carefree days. You must trust yourself in times of growing pains, you must believe in all that you are capable of. Let your responsibilities push you toward growth and shape you into the person you want to be, but never silence the innocence within. When you need her the most, all you must do is return to the last place you left her, and you will find your inner child waiting to guide you forward.
-
The Gelding speaks to the ways in which the world seeks to shape and restrain us. It reflects the quiet silencing of parts of the self, the subtle reins of expectation and conformity. Though we may long to live untouched by these forces, we cannot fully escape the touch of society or the binds it weaves around our spirit. Yet this card arrives as a threshold moment. It represents a chance to slip the bridle, to cast aside what constricts, and to allow yourself to grow in the direction you were made to grow.
-
The Stallion embodies the strength that rises when you are called to stand for what is right. It reflects your deep sense of justice and the courage that drives you into action. Yet this card also asks for discernment, for not every battle is meant to be fought, and not every cause requires the same force. When the Stallion appears, consider carefully which struggles are worthy of your energy, and ask yourself how you will honor your values even in conflict. True power lies not only in the will to fight, but in the wisdom to choose the path and the methods that serve your highest cause.
-
In battle, mares were often chosen as transportation for a very special reason: their self-control. They were counted on to refrain from whinnying even in times of fear, never betraying their troop’s location. A mare is the leader of the herd because of their ability to see the big picture; they are not taken care of unless the herd is taken care of, so they take care of the herd. To put it another way, a rising tide lifts all ships. This card challenges you to walk the fine line between leading with selflessness and tending to your own emotional needs. Connect to your inner mare. Look for the ways that helping others in your herd and leading with stoicism can raise everyone up, including you.
-
The Mustang represents the desire for boundless freedom. When this card appears, it may be during a time when you feel confined or powerless over your circumstances. The Mustang reminds you that your cleverness and willpower are keys to liberation. But before breaking free, pause to look at the situation from every angle. A sense of duty or fear of conflict can contribute to feeling confined, yet when seen through another lens, duty can become an expression of compassion and devotion. Conflict can become an opportunity to practice compromise and assertive communication. There will be sacrifices to make in your quest for freedom; consider which ones you can live with.
-
This card marks the closing of a chapter and the dawn of something new. You may find yourself moving through a spectrum of emotions, and each deserves to be met with compassion and grace. Allow yourself the space to mourn what has ended, honoring its place in your story. However, even after the darkest of nights, the sun always rises with radiant new beginnings.
These cards guide you through twelve pivotal moments of your life. Each member of the Major Arcana holds great strength and wisdom as you navigate these milestones.
The Past
These cards guide you through the past. They may hold wisdom you have already learned in the past that may be important for you to remember now. This set focuses on themes of destiny and luck.
-
This card marks the first step into the Minor Arcana and with it, the beginning of a new path. The journey ahead stretches far, winding through shadowed valleys and uncertain terrain. Dark clouds gather above, testing your resolve and daring you to press onward. Though the way may be challenging, trust in your resourcefulness and intuition. With your heart as your compass, courage on your side, and a little bit of luck, you have all you need to meet what lies ahead.
-
The Two of The Past finds you riding high, confident, and ready to bet it all. You may feel that fortune smiles upon you, yet beneath that thrill lies a quiet warning; you might be pressing your luck further than you realize. Step away from the table and take a breath. Count what you’ve gained, but also what’s at stake. This moment asks you to pause, assess, and decide with clarity: what are you truly willing to risk, and what is too precious to lose?
-
You stand among your herd, surrounded by the many souls who share your path. Some you hold close with affection; others may stir frustration or distance. Yet each one has arrived in your life with purpose, woven into the fabric of your journey. Every connection carries a lesson, if you are willing to find peace within it. A mantra can be helpful in these circumstances, something that reminds you to hold acceptance for each member of the herd in your life story.
-
You stand before mirrored choices, each one reflecting the other like twins in shifting light. The scene feels kaleidoscopic with patterns turning, doubling, blending until truth and illusion blur together. Confusion pulls at you, and the temptation to choose impulsively grows strong. Yet the Four of The Past whispers for stillness. Close your eyes and let your mind’s eye focus. Clarity will come through a moment of peace and rest.
-
The Five of The Past appears when you are laying the foundation for something new. It calls you to look backward, to listen for the echoes of those who came before. You are not the first to dream this dream or to walk this path. Their stories, words, and lessons linger like guiding lanterns along the road. Honor their wisdom, and let it steady your hand as you build what is waiting to take form.
-
Six of The Past arrives when something in your life feels bright, starry, and full of promise. You’re eager to make it lasting, to anchor this joy before it slips away. This card offers a gentle reminder to pause. What is meant to endure will not need to be forced. Let this moment unfold in its own rhythm; allow it to breathe, to grow roots naturally. The sweetness of new beginnings is not in securing them, but in trusting that what is true will settle into permanence with time.
-
There is no such thing as a coincidence. The Guide is always working with divine choreography to keep you on your path, even as it may perplex or confuse you. Seven of The Past reminds us that even the most baffling incidents of happenstance are cosmically aligned. It dares you to loosen the reins and let some things up to chance. Meet these interludes of fate with curiosity and open-mindedness, follow them as far as they take you, and retain your sense of wonder at the power of fate in your life.
-
We are all designed with two sides: the Light and the Shadow. The Light reflects the best of our personalities—qualities like passion, creativity, and ambition. The Shadow is the negative flip side of those same traits: passion turns into obsession, creativity into manipulation, ambition into cunning. Our Light is the expression of our higher self; the Shadow stems from the lower self, often driven by fear or old self-protective patterns.
Eight of the Past appears when the Shadow has taken the reins. It invites you to pause and reflect: What in your current circumstances might be triggering these responses? Are you acting from outdated instincts—reacting as if you're unsafe, when in truth, the present may be stable enough for your higher self to lead? This is a moment to check in, recalibrate, and consciously return the reins to your Light.
-
Nine of the Past finds you raising a glass to a recent success. You’ve worked hard to reach this point, and now the world feels alive with color and possibility. This is a time of well-earned pleasure and you are feeling the rush of pride that comes from seeing your efforts shine.
But amidst the glitter and celebration, this card offers a gentle warning: do not lose yourself in the glow. The same lights that dazzle can also distract. Be mindful of temptations that could pull you away from your true purpose: overindulgence, vanity, or chasing approval from others. Honor your past victories, then, when the music fades, turn your face toward what comes next.
-
Your long road has reached its golden horizon. You have weathered the storms, gathered wisdom from your trials, and emerged stronger for it. Now you stand grounded in contentment: steady, secure, and fulfilled. You have earned the sweetness of success and the peace that follows efforts well spent. The Ten of the Past invites you to pause, savor this moment, and bask in your triumph without guilt. There will be new journeys ahead and fresh horizons to chase, but for now, allow yourself to rest. You have arrived and it is enough.
The Present
These cards guide you through the present. They are lessons that you need to know now as you remember the past, consider your present circumstances, and look to the future. This set focuses on themes of your mind and inner world.
-
You are embarking on a journey, one you may not want to be going on. Restraints and heavy responsibilities weigh upon you. You feel like you’re going into battle already wounded. One of The Present calls back to The Spirit from the Major Arcana. Your Spirit is the light within you that provides strength in the darkest of time. It will always burn bright as long as it is fed with art, love, passion, and truth. Continue to feed your Spirit no matter how weak you may become and you will be able to see this journey through.
-
The sun is shining, resources abound, others are acting normally, but something is shaking you. You don’t feel quite right, like danger is around every corner. Honor this feeling without panic or obsession, but instead, curiosity. Consider: Is there something from the past that doesn’t feel resolved? Ask yourself what remains unhealed or unspoken. Are you carrying guilt or fear that no longer belongs to this moment? Turn inward with courage and rigorous self-honesty. Through reflection, name the source of your unrest, then take the necessary steps to obtain true closure from the past. Only when you bring truth into the light can you settle into the peaceful present.
-
It seems that every step you take stirs up dust from the past. Unpleasant memories, painful realizations, and echoes of generational wounds linger at the edges of your daily life. Three of the Present invites you to pause and listen to what the past may be trying to tell you. Is it offering a warning — a glimpse backward that can guide your steps forward? Or is it simply time to clear the air, to sweep away the old dust and begin writing your story anew? These questions may feel heavy, but approach them with gentleness. Grant yourself grace as you face the patterns and lessons that have shaped your path so far.
-
Something feels off. You can sense it clearly, though part of you may wish to look the other way. But this issue is too large to sweep under the rug. Ignoring it will only allow it to grow. Do not let fear or anxiety take hold—this moment calls for calm action. Trust yourself to face what is before you with grace and steadiness. By confronting what is uncomfortable now, you will be able to address the problem before it is too large to handle.
-
Your troubles are making you feel like a heavy, creaking ship at sea, with each additional struggle sinking you down further. You may feel as though your problems are so large that to share them with others would cause a tidal wave, shaking and displacing the other boats at sea. At this dark time, you may be feeling more alone than ever. Five of The Present reminds you that since the dawn of seafaring, ships have looked out for each other. Trust in the buoyancy of the ships around you, in their ability to hold your weight and ease your burden.
-
Two paths stretch before you, and fear whispers that choosing the wrong one could lead to ruin. The challenge lies in their likeness; both seem inviting, each balanced with light and shadow, promise and risk. But this is not a choice of logic alone. Six of the Present calls you to seek the wisdom of The Guide, your unseen guardian who gently steers you toward your destined course.
Find stillness. Quiet the noise of worry and expectation. In meditation or reflection, listen for the subtle cues of The Guide: a feeling, a pull, a knowing. Trust that your inner compass is aligned with something greater. When the moment comes, you will recognize your destined path.

Trust that your inner compass is aligned with something greater. When the moment comes, your heart will recognize the path that is truly yours.
-
Seven of the Present finds you running: running from your problems, your fears, and perhaps even from yourself. There is something before you that feels too heavy to face, a truth or challenge that seems beyond your strength. Yet as you descend the snowy mountainside, the slope grows steeper, you pick up steam quickly, and soon you are beginning to careen out of control . The true danger lies not in what you flee from, but in the harm you may cause yourself by running. In this moment, you are acting on your baser instincts, caught in the pull of fight or flight. This card reminds you that you have the power to stop, breathe, and turn back toward the mountain. Call upon your higher instincts of strength, humility, and unflinching self-honesty to address the problem head-on and you will find that what once felt impossible to face can, in truth, be overcome.

Item description
-
You are trapped in a corner with seemingly no course of action. It feels as though every wrong turn has led you here, to the end of the road. Your shadow side is urging you to use any darkness inside of you to find a way out, be it through manipulation, dishonesty, or disassociation. But Eight of the Present has come to you with a message: This is not the end. Your Spirit may be dim, but it is still burning. Your Light side still has an opportunity to overcome both your Shadow and this moment of despair. It will require the very best parts of you—the qualities you cherish most, whether they are honesty, compassion, or creativity—to prevail. Hold fast to faith and act with intention.
-
You are nearing the end of a long, dark, night of the soul. The sun is rising and gently illuminating all that is around you, the flowers, the fields, your own battle-worn body. Revel in the growing light around you, breathe in each detail. Once, the darkness was so deep that you could barely see where to place your next step, let alone see how to follow the winding roads of your destined path. Yet you endured; you survived, whole and present. In this lightness, take this moment to reflect on your growth. Every bit of it: the small and the great, the spiritual and the practical. It has all been hard-won and deeply earned.
The Future
These cards guide you through the future. They contain practical knowledge in how to address the moments of trouble and triumph that the future holds for you. This set focuses on themes of community and your place in the world.
-
Winter has arrived, and it finds you scrambling. You’ve spent the summer and fall preparing for this moment, yet a quiet unease lingers–you still feel unready. One of the Future has appeared to nudge you to shift your focus from the material world to your inner world. Ask yourself why this sense of lack remains. Is there an old emotion still trapped within you from a time when you were caught off guard? Or perhaps an inner voice whispering that you are not enough, that you must always do or be more? These are tender questions, and they require compassion. Be gentle with yourself as you explore them. Even the purest intentions can lead the mind into imbalance. Trust that clarity will come when you meet yourself with patience and understanding.
-
This is a time when you are called to step into the unknown. The path ahead is uncertain, and though that may feel daunting, you are not traveling alone. Yet who is it that walks beside you? The Two of the Future urges you to look closely at this companion and ask yourself: how well do you truly know them? Can they be trusted to guide you, or is it you who must take the lead? There is no need for fear or suspicion; all may indeed be as it should be. Still, this moment calls for clarity. Reflect on your bond, on the balance of trust and intuition between you. Are your steps aligned, or are you being pulled in different directions? The more honest you are with yourself now, the more confidently you will walk forward—whether side by side or on your own path.
-
There is a barrier on your path, something that is blocking the conventional next step, the most obvious next thing to do. You have the skills to overcome this obstacle, but Three of The Future invites you to ask: why is it there? Is it really a barrier you must overcome or is it a protective blockade shielding you from an unseen danger that lies beyond it? This could be the work of your Guide– the guardian force who walks in stride with you. Perhaps they are steering you toward another direction, urging you to turn in harmony with your divine path rather than forcing your way down the expected road.
-
Memories of family and the guiding figures in your life have been rising to the surface. You may have drifted apart from them, lost them to time or death, or simply feel distant from their influence right now. At the same time, life may feel overwhelming—like you are a small being standing in a forest of towering trees. In moments of uncertainty, you may wonder if you can do it all on your own. The truth is, you are never too old to ask for help or seek guidance. Try a new avenue, or a new approach, and do not be afraid to look foolish. You cannot hold onto pride and reach for a helping hand at the same time.
-
You have ventured far from familiar ground, learning, growing, and gathering wisdom through distance. Now, Five of The Future finds you on the path back home, to family members or paused friendships. You are carrying insight, strength, and stories that only come from walking unknown roads. This card reminds you that your journey was never meant to separate you from your community, but to enrich it. The lessons you’ve gained, even the painful ones, are not to be kept hidden. Share them freely, for in doing so you educate and provide perspective for those around you.
-
You find yourself in a position of visibility, standing before others, stepping into leadership. Yet with this comes the uneasy sense that your flaws are on full display. You feel exposed, wishing you could change the parts of yourself you struggle to accept. This card arrives as a gentle reminder to practice self-acceptance. Like everyone, you are a work in progress, growing, learning, refining your gifts. Hiding in the shadows will not protect you; it will only dim your light. Instead, take this moment to set intentions for what you can improve and find peace with what you cannot. In time, as your perspective softens, you may come to see these so-called imperfections as part of your unique beauty — the very details that make you whole.
-
Seven of The Future finds you dwelling on the past, endlessly replaying regrets and missteps. You may feel there are chances you’ve lost, opportunities missed, or moments when you acted against your own values. This card comes as a reminder that, in any given moment, most of us act with good intentions. But without the gift of omnipresent vision, we must make choices based on the information before us. Sometimes we know what the right thing to do is, but somehow fail to do it. This is because of life’s pressures and struggles which can knock us out of alignment and dim the light of our true selves.
It may seem as though two paths once lay before you and you chose the wrong one, but the other path was an illusion. It was never truly yours to take, otherwise, you would have taken it. You are walking your destined path, with all of its twists and rocky patches. Trust that your Guide will always keep you exactly where you were meant to be.
-
Eight of The Future arrives as things are heading south in one of your relationships. It may be a feeling of disconnection, a sense that things between you are out of balance, or even outright conflict. This is a time for reflection on how you are showing up in relationships. Do you give of yourself freely and honestly or are you holding back? Are you respecting the needs of the people in your life? Are you advocating for your own needs? These difficulties often occur when one or both members of a relationship are letting their Shadow side hold the reins.
Consider what is drawing you or the other person into fear and self-protection. Move with compassion and integrity to address both of your needs at this time.
-
You are running toward the finish line, the storm still raining down upon you, a smile on your face. The wind whips around you, and each step feels slow, almost suspended in time. But you are doing it. You’ve been through worse; you’ve been through it all. And still, you survived. Take this moment to feel both pride and gratitude, and then, with all that fire and power in your heart, just keep running.
-
Ten of The Future– the final card in the deck. This card represents the journeys you have taken, all the struggles you’ve endured and the successes you’ve enjoyed. Following your destined path held realities that were not at all as you had imagined. You may have a new perspective on what you want, where you want to be, and who you actually are. This is a well-earned knowledge, knowledge that can only come from experience. Hold fast to all you have learned. The waves will get choppy again, the storm clouds will form. You will need to continue to act with grace, acceptance, honesty, and intention. You will need to let your Light side hold the reins.
